Private Bittorrent Tracker Demonoid Back Online December 13, 2009 at 10:30 pm
After a very extensive downtime, the private Bittorrent tracker Demonoid is back online. With an announcment on the homepage, Demonoid states they should be online unless unforseen problems arise. With the tracker back online post Mininova and PirateBay, who knows how much traffic they’ll gain.
Thanksgiving day, the world’s largest Bittorrent site Mininova went legal due to legal actions taken on the site. This epic announcment hit the Bittorrent community hard since The Pirate Bay had just been attacked the same way a few months earlier. Things were starting to look and feel grim for the P2P community when out of no where Demonoid showed back up on the radar.
Demonoid has been around since the early days of Bittorrent and has grown into a thriving community of users. Being the self proclaimed largest private tracker, Demonoid has seen it’s share of legal threats the most recent from the CRIA. The site had a massive power outage back in early Septenber 2009 and stated they were trying to find a backup to restore the site but were having a hard time doing it. Now that the site is back online, the influx of torrent trading may increase since two of the major hitters are out of the game.

I was wondering why Mininova sucked lately, hehe. I’m glad to hear that Demonoid is back!
Yeah me to. I have a pretty good ratio on there haha. Glad it’s back!
It looks like new registrations are closed unless you have in invite. Too bad I never signed up!
